Yes.  All Vodafone Business Answering receptionists are based in Australia and professionally trained. The majority are located in southeast Queensland.

Of course! Upon activation of your service, Vodafone Business Answering will provide you with an individual number specific to how you would like your calls handled. Once the number has been provided, you are able to set the diversion from your landline, mobile and/or 1300/1800 number based on your specific requirements.

Common diversion settings able to be setup conditionally are:

  • Divert your calls if on another call
  • Divert your calls after a number of rings (able to be set up with your originating number provider)
  • Divert your calls if switched off or out of range (mobile-specific)

Alternatively, we are operational 24/7/365 so you are able to divert your calls and have them answered by our team whenever you feel necessary (for example, turning on your diversion only after hours, if a staff member is away sick or on annual leave, or if your usual capacity to answer calls in-house is impacted by anything else – such as a training day).

We will send your messages out with the details of your call via email and/or SMS depending on your preference. You are limited to a single message recipient on a Business Starter plan, however if you have multiple recipients who should be receiving the same message (eg sales and service departments), we can ensure message delivery to multiple mobile phone numbers and/or email addresses on any Business Receptionist or Business Assistant plan.

You can choose to have us answer calls only during business hours, only after hours or around the clock 24/7 simply by managing your diversion settings.

Once your account is activated and set up, you simply need to divert your business phone number to the unique number we provide to you. At this stage, you will choose to either forward all calls to us or only calls you’re unable to answer in-house. Then, when someone dials your number and that call is forwarded to us, our technology shows the receptionist your business name, your preferred way for the caller to be greeted and any other instructions or notes related to your account. An escalation service supports pre-defined events where you simply need to know your relevant staff member has been contacted and has acknowledged receipt of a message. Of course! Upon activation of your service, Vodafone Business Answering will provide you with an individual number specific to how you would like your calls handled. Once the number has been provided, you are able to set the diversion from your landline, mobile and/or 1300/1800 number based on your specific requirements.

Common diversion settings able to be setup conditionally are:

  • Divert your calls if on another call
  • Divert your calls after a number of rings (able to be set up with your originating number provider)
  • Divert your calls if switched off or out of range (mobile-specific)

How our lone worker safety monitoring service works

Customised set up

Tell us how you’d like us to handle calls and the escalation process to be followed if a lone worker fails to log out at the expected time, including who should be alerted.

A worker logs in

By having employees or contractors call a dedicated number associated with your account upon arrival on site, our receptionists will know the call relates to your lone worker service and answer appropriately.

After confirming that they are logging in, the worker will be asked to provide their location, name, phone number and an estimated timeframe that they’ll be on site. They will also be provided a reference number and advised to call back to log out or change details as necessary.

If a worker calls back

On subsequent calls, the worker will quote the reference number previously provided and advise whether they need to extend time or are logging out of the system having completed their job safely. Details are always reconfirmed and, if advising of a time extension, location updates will be made as necessary.

If a worker doesn’t log out

If a worker fails to log out within the timeframe quoted, an escalation process commences. Depending on your preferences, contact with the worker can first be attempted via SMS or outbound phone call. Alternatively, specified contacts can be notified immediately.

During an escalation process, text messages will be sent and/or outbound calls made at agreed time intervals until notification that the message has been received.
